‘Majuro declaration’ on climate change
On 5 September 2013, the Leaders of the Pacific Islands Forum adopted the ‘Majuro Declaration for Climate Leadership’.
The 12-page document says governments in the region are committed to demonstrating ‘climate leadership’ and calls on countries to list ‘specific’ pledges to reduce pollution.
Vanuatu Climate Variability and Adaptation
The Vanuatu Meteorological and Geohazards Department in partnership
with the Vanuatu Department of Agriculture and Rural Development,
SPC-GIZ and Australian Bureau of Meteorology are currently engaged in
a national-wide research project to document the links between climate
variability, adaptation, traditional forecasting, traditional
adaptation and planting calendars.
